Testimonials
Vodar is part of the training routine of tennis coaches in more than 20 countries.
Vodar gives me new ideas
The drills are easy to implement and I can reuse them several times a week with different players. Vodar gives me new ideas and practical drills to teach on topics that I was considering before that but didn’t know how to make practical.
With Vodar we all follow the same process
We are a team of 12 coaches and we can all align on the same methodology easily so everyone is following the same training approach for the mental part. That’s key for me as a head coach!
The neuroscience behind Vodar
Vodar's methodology is built on a solid neuroscience framework to ensure an optimal training process for both junior players and coaches. Here are the key scientific principles we follow.
Embodied Cognition
By engaging both physical and mental activity, Vodar stimulates Brain-Derived Neurotrophic Factor (BDNF) secretion, improving synaptic plasticity and memory, ensuring lasting mental skill improvements.
Neuroplasticity
Vodar capitalizes on the neuroplasticity of junior athletes' brains, which are more receptive to learning new skills and forming neural pathways compared to adults.
Cognitive Load Theory
By emphasizing incremental progress, Vodar ensures that young players avoid cognitive overload during mental training sessions and have optimally challenging mental drills to perform.
Interoception
Vodar aims to stimulate interoceptive awareness ability, teach juniors to self-regulate and improve insula brain region functioning.
Basal Ganglia Reinforcement
With our regular, repeated exercises, juniors create mental habits that are deeply ingrained in their brain structures and become second nature making positive mental practices automatic and effortless.
Spaced Repetition
Coaches are encouraged to apply a spaced repetition approach, revisiting previous drills after some time to reinforce juniors’ memory and solidify new mental skills.
